It might help you do tasks easier or prevent hearing loss in the long run.

Clear Captions

For people who are having a hard time understanding phone conversations because of hearing loss, the Clear Captions app is for you. It provides free captions for calls. Clear Captions also provides the services on a variety of platforms including computers, mobile devices and home phones.

ASL Dictionary

If you have hearing loss, one mode of communication is the sign language. Now, you don’t have to enroll in a school to learn sign language because there is an app for that. With over 5,200 English words available, this American Sign Language (ASL) video dictionary can help you learn to communicate especially if you don’t have your hearing aid with you. The app also contains translations of the entire numerical system, symbols, common idioms and phrases to help you deliver your message as clear as possible. Sound Meter

The Sound Meter app uses your built-in microphone to measure the noise volume of your environment in decibels (dB). It also shows a list of the equivalent sounds once it gets a reading of your surroundings so you’ll know if the sound volume is dangerous to your hearing health. The app is available for Android users only.

Hearangel

It enables you and your family to listen to music without damaging your ears by monitoring how you listen and notifies you when you are in danger of overexposure to sound. It can also modify and reduce your music’s volume to prevent you from going over the recommended Daily Sound Allowance (DSA) without ruining your music experience. The app is available for iOS and Android users.

Tinnitus Balance App

The Tinnitus Balance App by Phonak enables users to manage their tinnitus sound plan. Tinnitus is the ringing or buzzing in the ears even without the presence of external sounds. It is a very common symptom of hearing loss that can be bothersome especially when it gets worse. Tinnitus Balance App is to be used with the assistance of a qualified hearing health care professional who is familiar with your diagnosis and tinnitus management plan. The app is available for iOS and Android users.
